Doug is an organizational change consultant, TEDx and keynote speaker, executive coach, author, and educator. He has been a regular contributor to the Huffington Post Blog on Great Work Cultures, and a partner in NuFocus Strategic Group, an international consulting firm where he leads organizational change, learning and software initiatives to develop the networked, self-managed organizations of tomorrow.
He began his career in the manufacturing sector, principally with The Morning Star Company, a world leader in the food industry, as a financial controller. He now engages with Leadwise Community, People-Centric Organizations, Great Work Cultures, Work Revolution, Center for Innovative Cultures, Radical and other vibrant organizations and leaders to co-create the future of management. The author of Beyond Empowerment: The Age of the Self-Managed Organization and co-author of From Hierarchy to High Performance: Unleashing the Hidden Superpowers of Ordinary People to Realize Extraordinary Results, Doug is currently working on a new title for Forbes Books, The No-Limits Enterprise: Organizational Self-Management in the New World of Work, set for release July 23, 2019. |
The Self-Management Masterclass
On the second day, Doug Kirkpatrick will be facilitating a full-day Self-Management Masterclass. In this Masterclass Doug will cover the principles, practices and foundations of self-management. He will also share approaches to promote trust, commitment and effective communication in an organization with no bosses. He will show you how to recognize and describe the culture of your organization in meaningful language and how to resolve conflict in organizations with no bosses. You will become champions of self-management for yourselves, your teams and your organization.
Doug was the first financial controller for Morning Star, now the world’s largest tomato processing company. Their founder introduced the startup team to the core principles of self-management, which they adopted immediately. At Morning Star, Doug learned that organizational self-management is real, it works and it drives superior business performance. In 2008, Doug co-founded the Morning Star Self-Management Institute, with the mission of instantiating organizational self-management principles with effective education, tools and practices. |
